What a finished seam teaches you about patience

Nobody sees the inside of a doll dress. The tiny overcast stitches along a curved seam, the clipped corners, the second pass on a hem that will never meet daylight — all of it still matters to me.

When I was younger I rushed the parts I thought no one would notice. Age has a way of correcting that. Patience is not glamour. It is the quiet decision to do the right thing when the audience is only yourself and the doll on your lap.

Finishing the inside is how I practice being the kind of person who keeps promises — to customers, to family, and to the work itself.
